You've trained your dog. They walk to the pad, do their business, and somehow the pee still ends up on your floor. Frustrating, right? The good news: it's almost never a training problem.

The real reason it happens

Dogs naturally avoid stepping in their own mess, so instinct pulls them toward the outer edge of the pad. The problem is that most pads have a wide, non-absorbent plastic border. When your dog goes on that edge, doing exactly what they were trained to do, the liquid simply rolls off the plastic and onto your floor.

Buying a bigger pad doesn't help. A flawed design is flawed at any size.
